Multi-actor approach is an eligibility criterion. Proposals that fail to implement the multi-actor approach will be rejected before evaluation. See topic conditions, section 3.
Two-stage submission procedure. Stage 1 proposals are limited to 10 pages (Part B). Stage 1 deadline: 16 April 2026. Only proposals passing Stage 1 will be invited to submit the full Stage 2 proposal (45 pages).
JRC may participate. The Joint Research Centre (JRC) may participate as a member of the consortium.
Financial support to third parties (FSTP) is allowed. The maximum amount to be granted to each third party is EUR 60,000. FSTP may not exceed 30% of the total EU funding for the project.
SSH integration required. This topic requires the effective contribution of Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) disciplines and the involvement of SSH experts.
Expected Outcomes
- Stakeholders (such as land managers, public authorities and NGOs among others) are empowered to implement ecosystem restoration through practice-oriented knowledge, tools and advice. Collaborations between actors and across territories and sectors are strengthened and business models to finance them are developed.
- Competent authorities in charge of preparing and updating national restoration plans to implement the EU Nature Restoration Regulation and of national climate adaptation strategies and plans are aware of effective solutions, methods and tools for ecosystem restoration and they are able to propose appropriate restoration measures.
- Social, economic and environmental co-benefits and trade-offs of nature restoration activities are demonstrated, including for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
